The owner of a 2007 Kawasaki ZX1000 motorcycle contacted the Hayward Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The victim stated they discovered the Kawasaki missing from the parking lot of their apartment complex in the 200 block of Industrial Blvd.

The Hayward PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Kawasaki.

A short while later officers from the Hayward PD were directed to the stolen motorcycle by the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Kawasaki with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Kawasaki to the area of Calaroga Ave and Duvall Lane.  The officers observed the Kawasaki parked under a cover in the driveway of a residence. An investigation by the officers resulted in the identification and arrest of one subject for the theft of the Kawasaki.

The victim was contacted and responded to take possession of his Kawasaki.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Kawasaki ZX 1000 in April 2008 at Tracy Motorsports Inc. in Tracy, California.
