A family member of an Everett resident took this Hyundai Sonata without permission and refused to return it. The theft was then reported to the Everett Police Department.

The Everett PD verified the information and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Hyundai.

Less than one hour later and 35 miles north of Everett, a Mount Vernon Police Department officer received the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Hyundai. Additional Mount Vernon PD officers joined in the search for the Hyundai and located it in a grocery store parking lot in the 300 block of East College Way. One suspect in the Hyundai was taken into custody and booked into jail.

The Hyundai did not appear to be damaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Hyundai Sonata in August 2006 at Hyundai of Everett in Washington.
