The owners of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup contacted the Sandy Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.  A police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

A short while later an officer with the Salt Lake City Police Department traveling through Sandy picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Silverado with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the Chevrolet to the area of 4700 South and Bangerter Highway.  Officers from Sandy PD assisted on the recovery.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Silverado in 2001 at Henna Chevrolet in Austin, Texas.
