The owners of a Toyota Corolla contacted the Salt Lake City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. A police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Minutes later officers with the Salt Lake City PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to the area of 2500 East and Lynwood Drive. The Toyota had been freshly abandoned and was recovered undamaged. It was returned to the very happy owners on-scene.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Corolla in December 2004 at Toyota of Santa Monica in California.
