The owner of a 2005 Nissan Sentra contacted the Palm Springs Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Palm Springs.

The Palm Springs PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

Short while later, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Nissan to the Ramona Freeway and West Evans Drive in Moreno Valley. A traffic stop was initiated and a suspect was taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Sentra in June 2005 at Universal City Nissan in Los Angeles, California.
