The owner of a 2015 Land Rover contacted the South Orange Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. He reported that while he was stopped at a traffic light on South Orange Ave., a man with a gun forced him out of his Land Rover and then drove off.

The South Orange PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Land Rover.

A short while later, officers from the Essex County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Land Rover with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Land Rover to a parking garage at a hospital in the City of Newark, where the vehicle was found parked. The Land Rover was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2015 Land Rover in July 2015 in New York, NY.
