The owner of a 2006 Nissan Altima contacted the Newark Police Department to report that his vehicle had been stolen from his home in the City of Newark.

The Newark PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

A short while later, officers from the Essex County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Nissan to a parking lot in an apartment complex on Martin Luther King Blvd.in the City of Newark, where the vehicle was found parked. The Nissan was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2006 Nissan Altima in April 2006 at Hudson Nissan in Jersey City, New Jersey.
