The managers of a portable power rental company contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that one of their portable generators was stolen sometime between Friday afternoon and Sunday morning. The 2006 Wacker G25 generator was set up for the Arizona “Rock n Roll” marathon.
The Phoenix PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Wacker generator.

Later, officers from the Phoenix PD and the Phoenix PD Helicopter picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen generator with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the helicopter crew and the patrol officers tracked the generator to a neighborhood near east Camelback Road and north 56th Street.

The stolen generator was located on a vacant piece of property behind a residence. The vacant lot was not associated to the other residences in the area. The generator was recovered in good condition and later returned to the company.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Wacker G25 generator in June 2006 by Commercial Sales.
