The owners of a 2015 Ford Escape contacted the Los Angeles Police Department Devonshire Division to report that their vehicle was stolen from his residence.
The LAPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Seventeen (17) minutes later, the LAPD West Los Angeles Division patrol officers picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to the area of Jefferson and Overland. The officers conducted a traffic stop and took the suspect into custody for auto theft related charges without incident.
The Ford was released to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Escape in November 2014 at Galpin Ford in North Hills, California.
