The owner of a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox called the Albuquerque Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen by a known subject.
The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

The Albuquerque Police Department officers and auto theft detectives picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol and undercover vehicles. Following the audible and directional cues from the PTC, the officers and detectives tracked the Chevrolet determining it was mobile. Through outstanding communication and excellent tactics the officers, with assistance from the University of New Mexico Police Department officers, conducted a high risk traffic stop with the stolen Chevrolet. Three subjects were safely taken into custody. The driver admitted to the primary auto theft detective that she stole the Chevrolet and the other two subjects were not aware the vehicle was stolen. The other two subjects were released at the scene and the Chevrolet will be released back to the owner.
