The owner of a large Kings County farming operation discovered that a 1998 Ingersoll-Rand Air Compressor had been stolen from his ranch. He contacted the Kings County Sheriff’s Department to report the theft of the equipment. The Kings County SD verified the theft and entered the equipment information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the compressor.

About three hours after the LoJack was activated, a deputy from the Kings County SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen compressor with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputy tracked the compressor to the vicinity of Cedar and Cleman Avenues near the city of Laton. The compressor was found abandoned on the side of the road.

The compressor was recovered intact and undamaged; it was released to the owner at the scene.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ingersoll-Rand Air Compressor in August 2014 by California Commercial Sales.
