The owners of a 2014 Toyota Camry contacted the Los Angeles Police Department Van Nuys Division to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The LAPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Eleven minutes later, patrol officers from the LAPD North Hollywood division picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to the area of the 6100 block of Vineland Ave. The Toyota was located parked on the street.

The Toyota was impounded for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Camry in June 2014 at Northridge Toyota in California.
