The owner of a 2011 Nissan 370Z contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen. The owner parked her Nissan at her apartment complex parking lot and when she returned to it, found it missing.

The Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

Later, officers from the Dallas PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Nissan to the 5800 block of Preston Oaks, where they found it parked in an apartment parking lot. The paper tag had been replaced with a false tag. The owner came to this location and discovered that her key fob did not work in the ignition. The suspects had reprogrammed the key fob. The owner had just recently had her vehicle repaired. This is an ongoing investigation. This Nissan was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan 370Z in March 2011 at Bankston Nissan in Lewisville, Texas.
