The owner of a 2014 Ford Fiesta contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report the vehicle was stolen. The owner stated the Ford was parked in the parking lot of a hotel in the area of N Rancho Drive and W Lake Mead Blvd. The LVMPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Approximately forty minutes after the activation, officers from the North Las Vegas Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to an open space area near the intersection of Carey and Clayton. The officer observed the Ford to be parked and abandoned. The owner was unable to pick up the Ford at which time the officer had the Ford towed from the recovery scene for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Fiesta in July 2014 at Friendly Ford in Las Vegas, Nevada.
