The owners of a 2004 Cadillac Escalade contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of a shopping mall.

The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Cadillac.

Four minutes later, officers from the Phoenix PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Cadillac with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Cadillac to a neighborhood near 37th Avenue and Palm Lane in Phoenix.

The Cadillac was found at a residence in the neighborhood.  The Phoenix PD officers detained two suspects without incident.  A stolen 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe was located in the driveway of the residence and also recovered.  Both suspects were arrested and booked on felony charges.  Both stolen vehicles were processed for evidence and impounded for safekeeping.  The stolen Cadillac was later returned to the owners in good condition.  This is third time the Cadillac Escalade has been stolen and recovered by the use of LoJack.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Cadillac Escalade in March 2004 at Cadillac West of Las Vegas in Nevada.
