The owner of a 2015 Land Rover Range Rover contacted the Glenview Public Safety Agency to report that their vehicle was stolen from their company in Northbrook, Illinois. The victims contracted for a 2015 Land Rover to be delivered to the ports of New Jersey. When the two day grace period had passed with the Land Rover not being delivered the police were called. The Glenview Public Safety Agency verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Land Rover.

A short while later deputies from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Land Rover with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Land Rover to a garage in Round Lake Beach. Police on scene interviewed the suspect tasked to deliver the Land Rover to New Jersey. It was learned other law enforcement agencies were also interested in speaking to this suspect. Police investigation into this stolen Land Rover recovery continues.
