The owners of a 2002 Goose Neck trailer contacted the Harris County Sheriff Department to report that their trailer was stolen during the previous night. When the employees arrived for work they observed a section of fence that appeared a vehicle had driven over. Upon inspection of the storage yard the Ford F250 and the trailer were missing.

The Harris County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the State and Federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the trailer.

A short while later officers from the Houston Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Goose Neck trailer with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the signal to the 14000 block of Dublin across from an apartment complex where construction equipment was parked. Several workers were interviewed but none had observed anyone operating the pickup and trailer. Both vehicles were in good condition. The owner was contacted and the truck and trailer released to them.
