The owners of a 2006 Jeep Commander contacted the Denver Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen.

A police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Jeep.

A short time later the Denver PD officers were picking up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Jeep with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the Jeep and recovered it.  It was returned on-scene to the very happy owners.

The police are following up on this investigation as a suspect has been identified.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Jeep Commander in March 2009 by Skyline Automotive in Denver, Colorado, at the request of a previous owner.
