LoJack® System Helps the New York–New Jersey Port Authority Police Department Recover a Stolen 2013 Land Rover

The owner of a 2013 Land Rover contacted the Newark Police Department to report their vehicle had been stolen when they stopped at a convenience store in the City of Newark. The keys were left in the vehicle.

The Newark PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Land Rover.

A short while later, officers from the New York–New Jersey Port Authority Department picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Land Rover, with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Land Rover to a short term parking lot at the airport where the vehicle was found parked and undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2013 Land Rover in March 2014 by Land Rover of Paramus in NJ.
