The owner of a 2007 Yamaha YZF R-6 motorcycle contacted the New York Police Department 105 precinct to report that his motorcycle was stolen. The owner stated he had his bike near the house and when he came out for it later he found it missing.
The NYPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the stolen Yamaha.

A short while later, Officers from the NYPD Queens South Auto Larceny Unit picked up the silent signal from the LoJack® System installed on the stolen Yamaha on their LoJack Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, they tracked the signal into the Cambria Heights section of Queens, confines of the 105 precinct. There they narrowed down the signal which appeared to be coming out of a private garage that was attached to a private house. After conferring with the owner’s son, who agreed that there was in fact a motorcycle in the garage, he said it belonged to a friend. They asked for permission to look into the garage but were denied. Once entry was denied the Officer obtained a Search Warrant and entry was made into the garage. Once inside they found three other motorcycles that were also stolen; all toll four motorcycles were recovered. Each had minor damage on them; ignition damage only. Once all the property was secured and after a brief investigation, three occupants of the house were taken into custody.

The owner of the Yamaha was contacted and he was elated that his motorcycle was recovered so quickly, especially with only minor damage on it. The owner stated that he was happy that his motorcycle was equipped with LoJack when he purchased it. Further stating that if it wasn’t for LoJack his motorcycle may not have been recovered at all.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2007 Yamaha YZF R-6 in November 2006 by Motorcycle Mall in Belleville, New Jersey.
