The owners of a 2009 Yamaha YZFR-600 motorcycle contacted the Fairfax Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their home in the 7500 block Republic Court in Alexandria, Virginia.

The Fairfax PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Yamaha.

A short while later detectives from the Washington Area Vehicle Enforcement Unit and officers from the Prince George’s County Police Department in Maryland picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Yamaha with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detectives and officers tracked the Yamaha to the 5400 block Haras Place in the Fort Washington area of  Prince George’s County, Maryland. At that location, a search warrant was executed and the stolen Yamaha was recovered from the location. Charges are pending against the theft suspect.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2009 Yamaha YZFR-600 in May 2011 by Ellicott City Motorsports in Ellicott City, Maryland.
