A suspect was seen looking at used motorcycles at a dealership located in the 3700 block of East Valley Road in Renton.  He eventually got on a customer’s bike that had been left for service and drove off.

The theft was reported to the Renton Police Department who verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Harley.
Less than ten minutes after activating the LoJack, a King County Sheriff’s Office deputy  picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Harley on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following directional and audible cues from the PTC, the signal was tracked to a residence in the 2200 block of Jones Place SE.  The Renton PD responded with a LoJack PTC-equipped car and verified the signal was coming from a garage at that location.  While at the location, a female who resided at the house drove up.  She gave consent to search the garage.  Inside was the stolen Harley from Renton and another 2013 Harley Davidson that was stolen from a dealership in Tacoma but had not been reported stolen yet.  Suspect information was developed and an arrest is pending.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2009 Harley Davidson in April of 2010 at Destination Harley Davidson in Tacoma, Washington.
