The owner of the Honda motorcycle parked and chained his bike in the yard of his house where he lived. When he came down for it, he found it missing. This was in the East Village section of Manhattan, confines of the 9 precinct. He immediately called the precinct and notified them of the theft. When the police arrived they took a written report. This information was then entered by the New York Police Department into the City, State, and Federal crime computer which automatically activated the LoJack® System in the stolen Honda.

Within a short while police officers from the 104 precinct picked up the silent signal on their onboard LoJack tracking computers (PTC) that their vehicle was equipped with. This was in the Ridgewood section of Queens, confines of the 104 precinct. They tracked the Honda through various streets of Maspeth/Ridgewood; eventually they located the bike on a residential street. They staked the bike out for several hours, however when no one showed up for the vehicle they took it into custody. The bike was recovered, with no damage.

The owner was contacted and he was elated that his bike was recovered so quickly, especially with no damage. He further stated that he was fortunate when he purchased the bike he had it equipped with the LoJack® System. Because he knew that if it wasn’t for the LoJack® System his bike would not have been recovered so quickly, if it actually was recovered at all.

The LoJack® System was installed on the Honda CBR600 in August 2008 at Motor Sports of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
