The owners of a 2007 Toyota Camry contacted the New York Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen while parked near their residence on Fennimore Street in the confines of the Brooklyn’s 71st Precinct.

The NYPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short while later officers from the NYPD’s 105th Precinct picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked and located the unoccupied Toyota to an industrial yard on Merrick Blvd in Springfield Gardens, Queens. The undamaged Toyota was immediately impounded for safekeeping and later returned to a very happy owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Camry in June 2007 at Hudson Toyota in Jersey City, NJ.
