The owners of a 2011 Scion contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.

The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Scion.

14 minutes later officers from the San Diego PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Scion with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Scion to a residential neighborhood located in the 3000 block of North Park Way in San Diego.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Scion XB in April 2010 at Toyota Chula Vista in Chula Vista, California.
