The owner of a 2006 Honda CBR600 motorcycle discovered that their motorcycle was missing from the parking space where they had parked it. The owner contacted the Margate Police Department to report their motorcycle stolen. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the motorcycle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers.

Later that morning, an Auto Theft Task Force investigator picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen motorcycle on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC). The auto theft investigator began tracking the stolen motorcycle by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC screen. The auto theft investigator contacted the Coconut Creek Police Department for backup in the 1800 block of Lyons Road. Upon arrival of the Coconut Creek PD officers, the motorcycle was located parked in parking space with a motorcycle cover covering it. The motorcycle sustained only ignition damage. The Coconut Creek PD recovered the motorcycle, had it towed to the police impound yard for safekeeping, and had it removed from federal and state crime computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2006 Honda CBR600 motorcycle in April 2006 at Motorsports of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
