The owners of a 2014 Mazda CX5 contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their used car dealer lot. The dealer had performed an inventory and was unable to locate the Mazda on the parking lot and the key was missing from the office.

The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mazda.

A short while later, officers from the Tomball Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mazda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mazda to an apartment complex at Zion and Quinn streets parked and abandoned. The Mazda was in good condition and stored pending notification of the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mazda in July 2014 at Deeter Mazda in Houston, Texas.
