The owners of a 2011 Ford Fusion contacted the Atlanta Police Department to report that his vehicle had been taken from his home.
The Atlanta PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Fusion.
Within a short time of the LoJack activation an Atlanta PD officer equipped with a LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) began to pick up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the PTC that was installed in the police car.
Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the Ford to a shopping center where it was found abandoned behind a vacant building.
After a check of the area the Ford was towed to the city impound for processing and possible arrest.
The owner was glad that a LoJack tracking unit had been installed by the previous owner.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford in March 2011 at Gene Evans Ford in Union City, Georgia.
