The owners of a 2007 Suzuki GS motorcycle contacted the New Orleans Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen while it was shown in to a potential buyer. The owner had placed an ad on a social media page to advertise his Suzuki motorcycle for sale. The owner met the buyer outside of a New Orleans home near Bayou St John. The suspect got on the motorcycle, revved up the engine, he then drove off and did not return.

The New Orleans PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Suzuki motorcycle.

A couple of hours later officers from the New Orleans PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Suzuki with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Suzuki as it was being driven around and found that it was hidden in the garage of a residence in Gentilly area of New Orleans.  The officers were able to identify the suspect and arrest warrant for him has been issued for theft and possession of the motorcycle. As the result of this quick recovery by the New Orleans PD, the Suzuki motorcycle was returned to the happy owner in great shape.

The owner was very thankful that Motorcycles Unlimited recommended the installation of LoJack.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Suzuki motorcycle in June of 2008.
