The owners of a 2005 Honda Accord contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in an armed robbery.  The owner was flagged down by a suspect who stated that his car battery was dead and he needed a jump-start.  When the owner got out of his vehicle, a second suspect approached him, pointed a gun at him and demanded his car keys.  The owner complied and both suspects jumped into his 2005 Honda Accord and drove off.

Dallas PD verified the armed robbery and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Thirty four minutes later, officers from the Farmers Branch Police Dept picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Honda to an apartment complex in the 10000 block of Preston Road, where they found it abandoned in the parking lot.  Identifiable fingerprints were lifted from the Honda.  This is an ongoing investigation.  The Honda was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in May of 2008.
