The owner of a 2013 BMW S1000RR Motorcycle contacted New York Police Department, 25th Precinct- Manhattan to report this motorcycle was stolen while parked in front of his residence on Madison Avenue.

NYPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers (NYSPIN/ NCIC) which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the motorcycle.

A short while later officers from Yonkers PD in Westchester County picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked and located the stolen motorcycle under a tarp and chained to a tree on Ambrose Place in the 2nd Precinct. Surveillance was setup for a short time with negative results.  The owner was eventually contacted and the undamaged motorcycle was returned to a very happy owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the BMW Motorcycle in August 2013.
