The owners of a 2000 Honda Civic contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of a large retail outlet store.

Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short while later deputies from Harris County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Honda to the Greenspoint area where he observed the Honda traveling on a public street. The deputy conducted a felony stop on the Honda and took the driver into custody for Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle and arrested the remaining four suspects on numerous felonies, including outstanding warrants and possession of a controlled substance.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in September 2003.
