The owner of a 2005 Chevrolet pickup contacted the Dallas Police Dept to report that his vehicle was stolen from his driveway.

The Dallas Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet pickup.

Thirty three minutes later officers from the Dallas Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signals from the stolen pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 2400 block of Searcy, where they determined that the stolen pickup was inside a residence’s detached garage.  The officers made contact with the home owner, who refused to allow the officers to search the garage.  A search warrant was executed and the stolen pickup was found inside the garage.  The homeowner was arrested.  The stolen pickup only sustained damage to the ignition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet pickup in July of 2005.
