The owner of a Mercedes Benz 320 contacted the Markham Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen from in front of a business on Route 6. The owner further related that his vehicle had the keys in it when stolen. The Markham Police Department after verifying the theft entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes Benz.

A short while later, troopers from the Illinois State Police (ISP) and the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) picked up the silent signals from the LoJack System installed in the stolen Mercedes Benz on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC’s, the troopers from ISP and officer from ICC tracked the vehicle to Harvey, where it was recovered parked and unoccupied on Marshfield Avenue.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercedes Benz of San Diego on 1/26/2004 in San Diego CA.
