The owner of a 2014 Melro Bobcat Skid Steer contacted the Prince William County Police Department to report that their piece of construction equipment was stolen from the 14400 block Chantilly Crossing Lane in the Chantilly area of Virginia.

Prince William County Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2014 Melro Bobcat Skid Steer.

A short while later officers in the Manassas Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen 2014 Melro Bobcat Skid Steer with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the unit to the 9000 block of Euclid Avenue in Manassas. At that location, officers observed the unit parked and unoccupied. The vehicle was recovered by police and the owner notified so he could respond and recover his construction equipment.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2014 Melro Bobcat during April, 2014 via Commercial Sales.
