The owners of a 2013 Audi Q-5 contacted the Fairfax Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their home located in the 9200 block Plaskett Lane in Lorton, Virginia.

Fairfax PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2013 Audi Q-5.

A short while later officers from DC Metropolitan Police Department picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen 2013 Audi Q-5 with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to 4200 Gorman Street SE in Washington, DC. At that location, officers recovered the parked and unoccupied stolen 2013 Audi Q-5 and notified the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2013 Audi Q-5 during October, 2012 at Audi of Tysons Corner in Vienna, Virginia.
