Police in Orlando, Florida got a bonus when they recovered a stolen Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle that was recently taken from its owner’s apartment complex lot. With help from the LoJack® system that was installed when the bike was purchased, they not only found the bike, but uncovered an illegal stolen part business as well.

On May 10th, 2014, the Suzuki’s owner reported the crime to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the GSX-R600, which was installed at Central Florida Powersports in Kissimmee, FL.

A short while later, officers from the Orlando PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen bike on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers followed the signals to a private residence in Orlando, where they found two men in the attached garage with the Suzuki, along with parts from several other stolen motorcycles. The two suspects were arrested and the Suzuki was soon returned to its relieved owner.
