When a car, truck, van or motorcycle is stolen, it’s important to recover it as quickly as possible. The faster it’s located, the less chance there is for the thief to damage your asset. The LoJack® system assists in this goal by sending a silent signal to law enforcement to help them find the stolen vehicle, even if it’s not visible. In this case, a Cadillac Escalade stolen in Springdale, MD, is recovered the same day thanks to the expert work of local police with the help of LoJack.

On June 4th, 2014, the Cadillac’s owner contacted the Prince George’s County Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Escalade, which was installed at Capitol Cadillac in Greenbelt, MD, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from the Bladensburg Police Department picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers found the Cadillac on Emerson Street in Bladensburg, where it was parked and unoccupied. The Escalade was retrieved and quickly returned to its thankful owner.
