On a recent Wednesday, the owners of a Ford Escape discovered their vehicle was missing from their home. Local law enforcement recovered it the same day with help from the LoJack® system that was installed when the car was purchased. LoJack’s silent homing signals led police to where the thief had abandoned the Escape, allowing for a fast and safe retrieval.

The Ford’s owners contacted the Lakewood Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen on May 14th, 2014. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Escape, which was installed at AutoNation Ford in Littleton, CO.

A short while later, officers with the Denver PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Ford was found parked and unoccupied on Auraria Parkway. Police retrieved the Escape and quickly returned it to its very happy owners.
