The LoJack® system is the ONLY stolen vehicle recovery system that teams up with local law enforcement agencies to locate and recover stolen cars, trucks, vans and motorcycles. It’s a great testament to LoJack’s efficacy when police officers choose to protect their personal vehicles with our product. In this case, a Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle owned by an officer in Detroit, MI, is taken from its owner’s residence and recovered thanks to police assisted by LoJack.

On June 4th, 2014, the Suzuki’s owner contacted the Detroit Police Department to report that her motorcycle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the GSX-R600, which was installed at Cycle World Brooklyn in Baltimore, MD.

A short while later, detectives with the ACTION Task Force and troopers from the Michigan State Police picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen bike on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Suzuki was located in the rear yard of a private residence, where it was parked and abandoned. After a brief surveillance, the GSX-R600 was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owner. This was the second instance in less than a year that this motorcycle was stolen and recovered by police assisted by LoJack.
