This case involves a Honda Accord stolen in Los Angeles, CA. The car was recovered by local police quickly and safely with help from the LoJack® system, which was installed when the vehicle was purchased.

On May 26th, 2014, the Honda’s owners contacted the local police to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Long Beach Honda in Signal Hill, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, a police air support unit picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their helicopter. The flight crew located the Honda traveling in the area of 50th and Alameda Streets and requested ground assistance. A traffic stop was performed by the ground units. The driver, who had stolen the car using a shaved key, was taken into custody. The officers retrieved the undamaged Accord and soon returned it to its grateful owners.
