In this case, the LoJack® system helps Colorado law enforcement in the same day recovery of a stolen Ford Explorer XL and the apprehension of two suspects in the crime.

On March 7th, 2014, the Ford’s owners contacted the Loveland Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Explorer, which was installed at Sill-TerHar Motors in Broomfield, CO.

A short while later, troopers with the Colorado State Patrol picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The troopers located the Ford traveling in the area of US-287 near exit 326 and made a traffic stop. Two occupants in the vehicle were detained. The Explorer was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owners.
