The owners of a GMC Sierra discovered it missing from their home on a recent Thursday. Thanks to the LoJack® system that was installed when the pickup was purchased, local police were able to make a quick and safe recovery of their truck.

On April 3rd, 2014, the GMC’s owner contacted the Albuquerque Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activates the LoJack transponder concealed in the Sierra, which was installed at Midway Pontiac-Buick in Phoenix, AZ.

A short while later, an officer with the Albuquerque Police Department picked up the homing signal from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol car. The officer requested assistance from an air support unit.  The GMC was located near Foothill Drive, where it was parked and unoccupied at a residence. The ground officers questioned several individuals at the scene and two were arrested. The Sierra was retrieved and quickly returned to its thankful owners.
