When the owner of a 2013 Toyota Tundra went out of town, her roommate’s friend took the opportunity to ‘borrow’ the pickup without permission. When the victim returned home, she immediately contacted law enforcement so they could activate the LoJack® system installed in her truck. LoJack helped police recover the vehicle quickly, safely, and in good condition.

On March 20th, 2014, the Toyota’s owner reported the crime to the Plano Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Tundra, which was installed at Toyota of Plano, TX, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers with the Dallas PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers found the Toyota parked and abandoned in an apartment complex lot. The Tundra was retrieved in good condition and was soon returned to its relieved owner.
