The Georgia resident in this case discovered his Kawasaki ZXI 400 missing on a Sunday morning.  He had left the bike in its space at his apartment complex and gone away overnight. When he returned, it was gone. The LoJack® system that was installed when the motorcycle was purchased helped save the day by helping local law enforcement recover it in less than five hours after activation.

On February 2nd, 2014, the Kawasaki’s owner reported the crime to the Gwinnett County Police. Officers verified the theft and entered the motorcycle’s information into the NCIC Law Enforcement computer. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the ZXI 400, which was installed at New York Motorcycle in Queens Village, NY.

A short while later, a DeKalb County Police Helicopter equipped with an onboard LoJack tracking computer received a homing signal from the stolen bike. The flight crew directed ground units to the Kawasaki, which was found parked and abandoned, in good condition. The ZXI 400 was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owner.
