It was right around dinnertime on a Tuesday evening when the owner of a 2013 Harley Davidson FXS in Philadelphia, PA discovered his motorcycle was missing. Thanks to the LoJack® system he had installed when purchasing his bike less than a year before, it took his local police less than an hour after activation to recover it.

On March 11th, 2014, the Harley’s owner called Philadelphia Police to report the incident. Officers prepared a stolen vehicle report and entered it into the Philadelphia Police Computer System, the Philadelphia Crime Information center and the Pennsylvania State Police Computer. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the FXS, which was installed at Rommel Harley Davidson in New Castle, DE.

A few minutes later, a detective assigned to the Philadelphia Police Major Crimes Auto Squad received the homing signal from the stolen motorcycle on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The detective discovered the Harley parked and unoccupied on a side street. After a brief surveillance, the FXS was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owner.
