The Toyota RAV4 in this case was discovered missing from its owners’ McLean, VA residence on a recent Friday morning. Thanks to the LoJack® system that was installed when the SUV was purchased, local police were able to recover it quickly and safely that same day.

On February 21st, 2014, the Toyota’s owners contacted the Fairfax County Police to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the RAV4, which was installed at Koons Tysons Toyota in Vienna, VA.

A short while later, deputies from the Fairfax County PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies tracked the Toyota near the intersection of Douglas Drive and Broad Branch Court in McLean, where it was parked and unoccupied. The RAV4 was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owners.
