When a Land Rover Range Rover was stolen from its owner’s work lot in Doraville, GA, the LoJack® system installed in the SUV proved its effectiveness by helping local police recover the vehicle in less than two hours after activation.

On February 10th, 2014, the Land Rover’s owner reported the crime to the Doraville Police Dept. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Range Rover, which was installed at Land Rover of Nashville, TN.

A short while later, a DeKalb County police officer began receiving the homing signal coming from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. With assistance from a DeKalb helicopter and the Georgia State Patrol, the Land Rover was located while driving through a shopping area. The driver attempted to escape but was soon located hiding in the back seat of the SUV while parked behind a building. The suspect was taken into custom, and the Range Rover, which was in good condition, was soon returned to its thankful owner.
