It was just before 6 am on a Wednesday morning when the owner of a Hyundai Sonata in Baltimore, MD, discovered his vehicle was missing. Thanks to local law enforcement, assisted by the LoJack® system installed in the Sonata, the car was recovered without damage that same day.

On January 8th, 2014, the Hyundai’s owner contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Hyundai, which was installed at Pohanka Hyundai in Marlow Heights, MD.

Later that day, patrol officers picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers found the Hyundai on Talbott Road, where it was parked and unoccupied. The undamaged Hyundai was soon returned to its grateful owner.
