It was very early on a recent Thursday morning when these Evans, CO residents discovered their Ford Explorer was stolen. It was not gone for long, thanks to local law enforcement and the LoJack® system installed in the SUV. With LoJack’s help, police were able to track down the Explorer in just 70 minutes after activation.

On December 19th, 2013, the Ford’s owners contacted the Evans Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Explorer, which was installed at Ourisman World of Ford in Alexandria, VA.

A short while later, officers with the Evans PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen SUV with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the Ford to 31st Street where it was parked and abandoned. The Explorer was recovered and quickly returned to its very happy owners.
